The Modern Brewer Magazine
In the 1930's at least two major feature articles ran in the industry magazine
Modern Brewer about Detroit's newest brewery:  Koppitz-Melchers...

The April 1937 Modern Brewer
Koppitz had just opened their absolute state-of-the-art brewery and nationwide other brewers wanted to know about it.  Take a virtual tour and read this article about a small Detroit brewery that raised the bar of excellence for others across the country!

More seriously, this feature is a walk-through of what was then a modern (remember this is in the mid-1930's!) brewery.   Every aspect of the the facility is discussed is some detail...  With very few modifications you could use this as rough starting point for the creation of you own small brewery.  It really is an amazing read.

Note that this article has been converted (not merely scanned) into hypertext and is searchable (as is the rest of this site).  So if there are any keywords or concepts that you'd like to research, just use our search engine...

Please also note that I could find no writing or photography credits for this article, if anyone knows this information, please let me know so I may give credit where credit is due!
